Manufacturing SeattleWebsiteCustom API

A WordPress + Laravel rebuild with a Syspro API at its core.

Bodypoint, a Seattle medical-device manufacturer, needed a modern, cost-effective replacement for an outdated website — one that its marketing team could edit and its ordering system could talk to.

Stack: WordPress · Laravel · Syspro

The situation

Bodypoint.com had aged past its usefulness: slow to load, expensive to maintain, and hard for the marketing team to update without developer time. Behind the website sat Syspro, the ERP running their ordering — and no integration between the two, which kept manual work in every customer order.

What we did

  1. Split the stack: WordPress front, Laravel back. A WordPress front end gives marketing full control of content and page updates; a Laravel back end keeps the application layer fast, secure, and cheaper to run.
  2. Built a custom Syspro API integration. The website now talks directly to the ERP — streamlining the customer ordering process and removing the manual re-entry between web and back office.
  3. Rebuilt for speed and user experience. The new platform loads faster and gives customers a cleaner path from product page to order — building on the foundation of the previous site rather than discarding it.

A build-quality study rather than a traffic study — the measurable wins here are operational: page speed, maintenance cost, and order handling.

Why it worked

Most website projects fail at the seams — between what marketing needs, what IT will support, and what the ERP demands. Splitting the stack let each team keep the tool that serves them best, and the API removed the gap between them. The transferable pattern: integrate the systems people already trust instead of forcing everyone onto one platform.
